But these thoughts were not helping him lose his erection.

After clearing up the breakfast things and brushing his teeth, Dane stepped out into a heat that sucked the breath from his lungs; the searing heat even managing to clear the vivid blue sky of birds. Nothing could be heard but a chorus of air conditioners, and the occasional car in the distance. On days like this, nobody went out unless they absolutely had to.

Dane walked down the driveway and knocked on Tas’s door, happy to be admitted into the cool comfort of his neighbour’s extravagant living room.

“Hot enough for you?” asked Tas.

Dane rolled his eyes.

“Would you like something to drink? Juice? Water?”

“A water would be great.”

“Have a seat and I’ll get you one.”

Tas soon returned with a glass of water that was room-temperature, not chilled as Dane had been expecting. Still, it did the trick. And as Dane drank, Tas explained.
