Done, she snapped. Stop, enough. The Watchers dropped the men they had been draining.

Ella wished she had time to recharge, but not now; the disclosers and the witch had to be caught and terminated.

She gave the order and the Watchers left Larkin’s in another loud rush of leathery wings.

“We’re almost there. Henry, you go down to your place, get clothes for the two of you. Jamey, can you walk?”

“If you can, come help me collect my stuff and anything else we can grab in the next ten minutes, no more than that. Here we are. Jump out the minute I stop the car.”

Dr. Melloy turned between two big cedars into her circular driveway and pulled the car to a sudden stop right at the front steps of her house.
