Henry shrugged. “Jamey, all my life I have felt coming moments that were special, moments I learned to pay attention to. I feel them; I feel the weight of their meaning, their importance, even if I don’t know what that importance is, or what they are going to mean.”

“You sound like Dr. M.”

Henry cast another stone.

“Is this one of those moments?” Jamey asked. “What does it mean?”

“I think it means we jump off the cliff.”

“I just wish I wasn’t so scared—of all of it, the quest, you and me, everything.”

“I’m scared, too; I keep telling you that. Let’s go tell them they found their heroes; we’ll look for their key. And we aredoing it for ourselves, not for them, so we can have our lives back. We get this done, get the Watchers off our backs, then you can go home and they’ll be safe, if that’s what you want to do,” Henry said.

“I don’t know what I want to do. What about you?”
