“I know you need to change, I can feel the energy from here. You can run on the beach, and see the ocean from inside your shadow. No one can see us inside the shadow. And the wards are all set up, and the Keeper’s coming back. It’ll be okay. C’mon.”

Outside the Cherokee Road Safe House, Richmond, just after 9 A.M., local time.

Now that she had awakened the rest of the Watchers within a fifty-mile radius of Richmond it didn’t take Ella long to sniff out the safe house. Once she woke the rest of the Watchers in central Virginia she would consider taking on the house’s shields and wards, but not this morning; instead she set the others to stand guard. No one was to go in or out of the house without her being informed.
