“I do. Some of them don’t even have sex. They call them sweet romances. They’re sweet because there’s no sex.”

“Then what makes it sweet?”

“Romance! That’s what it’s all about.”

“I don’t believe you.” With too much racket, he chopped the carrot to smithereens.

“Did you and Michael have a fight?”

He put down the knife. “How did you know?”

“I can tell. What’s the matter?”

How did she figure it out? “We had a fight.”

“About what?”

“I don’t know. I think we’re just frustrated and worried.”

“That reminds me of a story.”

“Is there sex in it?” he asked.

She paused. “No, not really. It’s sweet.”

“Then I don’t want to hear it.”

“I’m going to tell you anyway.”

“I was afraid of that.”

“There were two guys.”

“I know. There always are. What’s that all about anyway? Don’t you like women?”
