“The deed done, I moved quickly to get rid of her body. Her red-blond hair was stained and discolored when I dumped her in the sewer where I hid her body, and her face was bruised, covered with terrible looking blotches, and three of her ribs had been broken. Her thighs and abdomen had been bruised and lacerated, all these things at last bringing her life to an end. I hated it, but with her dead, at least my son was safe.”


“You did that…killed my…mom to save me?”


“I couldn’t help it, Rocco, she would have killed us both.”


“But you went to jail…to prison.”
