Chapter 33

Myself, I’ve been at my computer ten hours a day, trying to process the massive amount of paperwork, taking charge of all written communications, making sure that we’re still financially viable and within our time-frame schedule. Legally, it’s also been complex. I’ve never spoken to so many lawyers in my life. I’m starting to learn the jargon.

Lene will be subleasing my Verdun apartment until the lease it up. She’s tying up loose ends in Ottawa and should be moving back to Montreal next week. I haven’t heard from her in a while, though. Same goes for Myles. I miss him terribly, but he’s been reluctant to visit. Has yet to see the house.

“Am I getting fat?” Boone was staring at his belly.

I chuckled, shaking my head at him. “No.”

“No, really?” He patted his stomach.
