Chapter 3

A key turned in the lock, and he tensed. He held his breath as the door opened and then blinked at the sudden bright light as the person switched on a lamp. Alex squinted. The man was dressed in an unbuttoned white shirt with a necklace and a big pendant hanging from his neck. He stepped inside, flashing his hard chest. Alex’s breath caught. Tall, dark, and handsome were personified in the guy, who Alex thought to be in his thirties. His wet, dark blond hair was cropped short, his thick eyebrows almost met in the middle, and his eagle-sharp eyes looked almost golden as they pierced into Alex’s, making his heart beat harder The stranger hadn’t yet said anything but he gave Alex goosebumps.

“Wh-who are you? Why did you do this to me?”

The man sat at the edge of the bed. His eyes softened and the way the corners of his lips curled up seemed to tell Alex not to worry, but Alex wouldn’t be deceived. He wasn’t going to be made a victim of Stockholm syndrome by that simple act.
