The owners of Almeria Hall were known to breed the finest horseflesh in southern England. Their stud routinely produced hunters and racers worth every penny of their exorbitant price.

But Errol Dorincourt wasn’t there for a thoroughbred, or even one of the Arabians he’d learned were also bred on Almeria Hall Farm. However, when he called to arrange this meeting, he didn’t reveal that. Instead, he explained to Mr Smythe, one of the owners of the farm, that he’d seen the breed when he’d been stationed in the Near East during the War and was interested in purchasing one if a price could be agreed upon.
