“Of course, sir.” For a moment his expression darkened, but then it was wiped smooth, and he said, in his best Uriah Heap impression, “Just an ‘armless little observation, I’m sure.”

“Indeed.” I took my change, and we went into the first hall.

St John forgot his irritation and proved surprisingly knowledgeable of the films that were represented, going into detail about the Ymir from a creature feature of twenty years ago, comparing it to Ray Harryhausen’s later stop-motion work with a Cyclops from one of the Sinbad movies.
