Chapter 34

Edward’s logic was too hard to argue with, no matter how badly Dalton wished to remain here for the rest of the day. Edward was right, though. It’d be one thing if they were on his estate in his bed.

Here in Tadbury House, however, Dalton rolled off Edward with a playful whine. Because Edward liked him being playful. Because Dalton wanted to play. Because both were okay.

In response to his whining, Edward bolted upright, leaned over him, and smothered him with both kisses and tickles. Dalton, his body confused by the two very different sensations, squealed with laughter. He wriggled and squirmed beneath him, kissed back whenever their lips met, and relished in the delightful burn of Edward’s beard against his skin.

When Edward pulled away, he hovered over Dalton with a soft, adoring smile. He swept messy curls away from Dalton’s eyes and dove in for a kiss.

“What are you thinking about?” Edward asked. “Other than the desire for my body.”
