Chapter 24

He peeked over as best he could while being held. Definitely Anthony, definitely himself. Entwined. Engaged. A curl of Anthony’s hair, tumbled loose from usual smoothed-down flawlessness, made a dark comma beside his left eye. A smile flickered around his lips.

“You look happy,” Robert suggested.

“I am, I believe.”

“We’ve just made love in my brother’s study and then you teased me about my skill at cards.”

“And I’d do it all again.” Anthony grinned: abruptly younger, lighter, weight shed. “You know my secrets now. All of them.”

“My favorite diabolical villain. I don’t know enough about you. Tell me something else.”

“So demanding after sex.”

“I like you making demands during the sex. Please? Anything you’d like. I’m marrying you.”

“So you are.” Anthony’s hand stroked Robert’s back, solid and steady. “Anything in particular you’d like to know? About me, or my family?”

“Whatever you want. Don’t you have a sister? Younger?”
