Chapter 19

“Welcome to New Orleans,” Edan said seconds later. They were standing beside at huge tree at the base of a craggy rock formation which served as the exit from the Gate. He wasn’t the least nonplussed by the sudden change of scenery, but then neither was Delilah from the look of pleasure on her face as she surveyed their surroundings.

“How do we get from here to the bed-and-breakfast?” Gideon asked.

“We walk. It shouldn’t be more than three miles, I don’t think.”

“And easy walk,” Braden commented.

“For an elf,” Delilah grumbled. “For a human?” She shook her head.

“It’s onlythree miles. We’ve taken longer walks just for the hell of it,” Braden replied, giving her a hug.
