It’s the start of October in Haydon Cliff, and Harker “Harry” Bellencourt is preparing for a quiet evening at his new home on Eerie Lane, mysterious next door neighbor notwithstanding, when his sort of ex-boyfriend, Abraham “Kel” Kelsing appears asking for another chance. As an unusual thunder storm rages outside, Harry finds himself giving into Kel’s persuasive charms. But then he’s forced to break off his bourgeoning relationship with Luke Seward that very night when Luke appears at his door, and later Harry is convinced he heard Luke scream.<br><br>When Harry learns Luke is seeing the neighbor next door, he becomes more concerned, as Luke seems to be acting strangely, and then Harry witnesses his neighbor possibly committing a crime, he begins to expect the impossible ... his neighbor might be a vampire.

Kel hadn+IBk-t arrived yet when Harry stopped to undo the driveway gate, so he decided he+IBk-d pull into the back carport and give Kel the driveway.


They+IBk-d decided on pizza for dinner and Kel planned to pick that up.


Yeah, pizza and donuts. Not a healthy dinner at all. And later, Harry would have to pay for it at the gym or something, but he and Kel were both feeling lazy and in need of comfort foods and that was the way it was.


He grabbed the donut box from the seat behind the driver+IBk-s side, and straightened to close and lock his door. And that+IBk-s when his gaze strayed to his next door neighbor+IBk-s house. He lifted his gaze to the second floor at the back of the house and once more saw the curtains flutter, then move back into place.


Harry shook his head. Why should he be so worried about some nosey neighbor anyway?
