“He’s standing there, waiting.” Sandy hissed, despite knowing only Thaddeus could hear him now when he was translucent, and nodded toward the door.
“Perhaps it’s the mailman?”
Sandy scowled at him. “Since when does the mailman stop to stare at your door for several minutes?”
Before Thaddeus could answer, Sandy held up a hand to silence him. “Someone else is coming.” He glanced across the living room and out the window past the small patio. It was getting dark, but Sandy didn’t think anyone was out on the lawn. He tried grabbing Thaddeus’ coat, but his fingers slid through it. With a growl, he turned to Thaddeus. “Put it on.”
Thaddeus gestured at his arm sling but shot Sandy a trickle of energy so he could grab the coat.
He helped Thaddeus get his left hand through the sleeve, wrapped the coat around his bare shoulders, and managed to button the two top buttons of the coat before his fingers turned see-through. “Now, out the patio door.”
“Are you serious?”
