“Thad?” Jaecar turned around in the passenger seat so he was able to look at them. “What are we to expect?”

Thaddeus frowned. “I don’t know. I haven’t met many warlocks…that I know of. I have a feeling there are a lot more out there than we suspect, but I don’t know what to expect.”

“I meant more about the environment. You’ve been in the tunnels.”

Sandy found the way Thaddeus squirmed under Jaecar’s gaze interesting.

“I haven’t been there as much as you might think. I…eh…I’ve been to the black market. There’s a door, it’s not hidden exactly, but it’s old and rusty and sort of blends in with nature. It’s the only entry point I know of. If we go in there, there will be other wizards around.”

Ric, who was driving, threw them a quick glance too. “Hostile wizards? Or wizards who won’t give a damn about us being there?”
