Chapter 31

“He told me to sod off, didn’t he?”

“Yeah.”

Ben chuckled. “I’ll keep it warm a bit,” he said. “Tell Milo hello, and that I’m sending good thoughts out his way for his dad. And take your time,” he added, more softly.

“Did you hear that?”

“I did. He’s a cutie, that Thor. And wet…” Milo made some kind of guttural, sex noise. “Did you get to see him wet in that pool room?”

“Yeah,” Tom Alan said shyly.

“We can’t get you on him, but we’ll get you on someone.”

Someone? Tom Alan recalled Ben’s words. “Boog is a wonderful, sweet, totally caring friend, or he’s your fuck buddy.” “Sturm und Drang’s his biggest turnoff.”

“If you want to be, before you’re all married-like,” Milo said. “Who you snog in America, stays in America, now, doesn’t it?”

No response.

“You still there?”

“I think that’s only Vegas.”

“There ya are. And not in my playbook. And what of that dog? Looks just like me, don’t ‘e?” Milo thickened the accent for comic delivery.
