Chapter 96

Tom Alan got nosy after that. He read a few texts between Erika and Bill. There weren’t many. All of them within the past week. Erika announcing she and Tom Alan would be in New York, asking Bill if they could get together. Him saying he’d like that—signed with a heart emoji. Tom Alan was almost hoping it was just a fling. Not that he wanted Erika to be flinging. How could they fall in love so quickly and so far apart? Of course, who was Tom Alan to make judgements there? If they did love each other, though, if Bill objected to his girlfriend being someone else’s wife, if that happened, Kiki was going to be hurt.

Tom Alan wondered. Milo had come around to the idea of a three-way marriage. Okay! Stop calling it that! It wouldn’t be that at all. The marriage would simply be on paper. There wouldn’t actually be three people in the bed, even in the house. He wondered if Bill might be on board with the whole thing.
