I open my eyes and meet his gaze. “Tell me what you found out,” I rasp, swallowing around the stupid lump permanently stuck in my throat, with eyes burning as though they were dipped in Tabasco sauce.

“I googled what to do when someone has been unfaithful…” His resolve waivers for a moment, tears rising in his eyes. But he blinks them away and continues. Determined as ever. “I mean, what to do if the couple wants to stay together.”

“What did you learn?”

“The most important part is complete honesty from the one who cheated. They…Ineed to be open about everything, answer all your questions, and not keep secrets from you, no matter how small.” He picks up his phone and taps the screen for a few seconds before handing it to me. “Scan your fingerprint.”

“Why?”

“That way you can always check for yourself that I’m not keeping stuff from you. You know I have my entire life on my phone.”

“I don’t want to check your fucking phone, Frankie.”
