Chapter 6

“No worries. It happens all the time,” Khnurn said, his voice a little deflated. “There are people like me who are vicious, downright evil. We don’t allow those people to do such things anymore though. That kind of behavior would get us all killed, and so we stop people who do things like that. We have a code, and people who don’t follow it, jeopardize us all, so we handle them.”

“That makes sense,” Ian said. “Again, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to make assumptions about you. You seem to have a lot more honor than most people I know.”

Khnurn suddenly reached over and kissed Ian. This time, it was passionate and eager. Ian could feel the warmth inside it, and something a little unbridled. After a moment, Ian pulled back.

“Wow! How did I earn that?”

“It’s been a long time since anyone’s called me honorable,” Khnurn said, almost shyly, as he turned his face down and focused his attentions on Ian’s neck again.

Ian practically jumped at the sensation.
