Chapter 6

“Yeah, I did. My mom’s got her master’s degree in literature, and Dad’s an electrician. So, no matter what my brother and I did, we knew it would involve some sort of education, training, whatever. When the college football scouts came, the first thing my mom looked up was the curriculum offerings. No such thing as an Anderson boy using free college to barely pass a bunch of blow-off classes. “Relatable,” Dan chuckled. “I always knew I wanted to run the shop, and I didn’t want to take out loans and waste time. But my tiotold me that if I couldn’t keep the books straight, he wasn’t going to let me do anything other than dust the shelves. I was crap at math, so I wound up getting an Accounting degree. I wasn’t the best student, but I learned what I needed to do my job here. It’s worked out so far.”
