Amaya laughed so loud, Beau pulled back his head and side-eyed her. “You’re losing your touch. Must be what happens when you get all old, Mr. Thirty Bertie.”

“Must be.”

“Good to know you won’t be busy after this, then,” she said, shuffling back to the fence and pulling herself up on it. “I need some help shopping. I’ll even buy you lun—”

“Hello, Mr. Merritt!”

They both turned to look at Rebecca, who waved with all the enthusiasm of a child at a Santa Claus Parade, and Bryson waved back without even an ounce of it. “Just Bryson, Rebecca. Bryson is good.”
