With an almost human cry, the thing that had formerly been Luna Labyrinth lashed out again with its tendrils, a length of flesh extending through the holes in the net and cutting across Doc Labyrinth’s chest, shredding both clothes and flesh.

He cried out in alarm, bloodied hands clutching the wound as he stumbled backwards, and the meows pressed in, tightening the net further around the creature, metal pressed into still recognisable features, the flesh burning at the touch.

“Get it back inside,” Labyrinth gasped, breathless with pain. He turned to spare a disgusted look at the three girls. “And escort these children home. Make sure their parents know what happened here.” 22
