Chapter 4

“Good, thank you.” Sheamus was caught between feelings of victory and violation. He hated the fact that he’d used Jake’s birth name and gendered pronouns, but it seemed to be the only way to get through to him. He respected Jake’s right to choose his gender, especially since Sheamus often saw trans men and other nonbinary folk when he went out to the few gay bars that hadn’t been completely rebranded as a spot for supernatural sex pick-ups. He was, though adjacently so in his very cis and straightforward understanding of his own gender, part of the same community of outlaw freaks known as the LGBTQ community before the true outlaw freaks of djinns, vampires, witches, and warlocks took over. Maybe had he and Jake met over a scotch at the local bar, they could get along. More than get along.
