Chapter 34

“What kind of diner is this?”

Benjamin floated high into the air as his vision turned silverish. He knew his eyes must be glowing in that eerie silver color now, and judging by Andro’s facial expression, the man was terrified. Andro attempted to move, but Benjamin’s magic prevented him from doing so. He slowly moved closer to Andro until they were standing face to face. Then he grabbed Andro by the neck and lifted the man off the floor.

“This diner is created specifically for those souls who are torn between remaining on the mortal plane or crossing over to the other side.”

“What other side?”

Benjamin sneered. “What do you think?”

He could tell when the realization dawned upon Andro mere seconds later. Andro grew pale as his eyes widened.

“No! That can’t be. I’m not dead.”

“Oh, but you are. Very much dead in fact.”

“No! I can’t be dead. I’m only thirty-three years old.”
