Chapter 80

“Hello, Ben.”

“E-Eric.”

“Are you going somewhere?”

Benjamin pointed at the blue flame that hovered next to Eric’s head. “An assignment.”

“May I accompany you?”

“I guess. I mean, yeah. Okay.”

Eric beamed widely at Benjamin. “Thank you. Let’s go.”

Then he reached for Benjamin’s hand and intertwined their fingers together before gently tugging outside. Benjamin remained quiet for a few seconds as he and Eric strolled along the sideways hand in hand while the blue flame floated about three feet away in front of them.

“Why are you here?” Benjamin eventually asked.

Eric arched his left eyebrow. “Do you not want to meet up with me anymore?”

“I do,” Benjamin replied in a hurry. “But it has been three weeks now.”

“Twenty days,” Eric corrected, and he stopped walking in the next instant. Then he gazed into Benjamin’s eyes. Benjamin shuddered slightly when Eric tenderly caressed his cheek with one hand. “I missed you, baby. So much.”
