Chapter 10

Beck had even, white teeth. And was that sawdust in his hair? Troy wanted to brush it away. Get a fucking grip! he told himself silently. Beck opened the screen door. His lips were moving. Was he talking? Troy concentrated.

“We were all over social media the other day and it didn’t take them long to name both of us. Plus someone from the CSA called me earlier to say you were on your way.”

Troy nodded. Of course they’d call ahead to warn Beck, might have even asked if they could give out his address before they gave it to Troy.

Beck’s button-up shirt looked way too big for him. Did it belong to him? Was it…! Troy couldn’t help the unexpected growl from deep in his chest.

Beck cocked his head and looked at Troy oddly. “You okay?”

Troy got a grip. This was fucking stupid. “Uh, yeah. Look, is this a good time? I could, uh, come back if you have visitors or—”

“No, no, it’s good.” Beck stood back and beckoned for Troy to enter.
