Chapter 71

“I laid out that black pair of jeans and the deep blue button up shirt you bought last week.”

Troy leaped off the sofa, caught Beck up in a hug, and laid a gentle kiss on the man’s surprised lips. “Have I told you lately how amazing you are?”

“No.” Beck returned the kiss before pulling out of the embrace. “Now get ready.”

“Yes, boss!” Troy saluted and marched down the hallway to the bedroom. Maybe ‘boss’ would be a good nickname for Beck, but then the sotans often called Troy that, so perhaps not.

“You look pleased with yourself, little brother,” Lizzie said, meeting Troy in their parents’ driveway. “How come you drove rather than flew?”

“Uh, we just felt like a change,” Troy said, quickly glancing sideways at Beck.

Troy wasn’t comfortable with Beck flying while pregnant, even though Beck repeatedly insisted he was absolutely fine. Beck even pointed out he was in more danger on the roads, what with car crashes and the like.
