“Sorry,” Lee said. “Bobby’s very tactile. He loves to be held.”

Troy shrugged. “I don’t mind.”

“Tuohy,” Bobby said once the transfer was made.

“That’s right, buddy, I’m a tuohygan.”

“I’m Bobby, not Buddy,” the kid corrected.

“That’s another thing,” Lee said with a groan. “Everything has to be correct, otherwise Bobby gets upset.”

“No problem.” Troy jiggled Bobby in his arms, making the youngster giggle.

“Again! Again!” Bobby yelled.

“Inside voice, remember?” Alan said, ruffling his son’s mop of blond curls. To Troy, he asked, “You can put him down if he’s too clingy.”

“I don’t mind, although maybe Steve would like a turn?”

Steve smiled and nodded.

“No!” Bobby declared. “I want Tuohy!”

“Robert Cameron Grimes!” Mrs. Feldman said. “You’re being a rude little boy.”

“Sowwy,” Bobby said, hiding his face in Troy’s shoulder.

Not sure how to converse with a toddler, Troy asked, “Do you go to pre-school?”
