Ted approved. He began unboxing in the kitchen first. He caught Ryan walking by with a box marked “paintings”, and asked, “Are those yours?”
Ryan paused and cocked his head questioningly.
“Your watercolors. They were all over the walls at your mother’s,” Ted said, nonchalantly. “You should put some in the living room.”
Ryan grinned. “I wasn’t sure if you were going to be weird about decor.”
“Oh, extremely, but I happen to think you have talent.”
Ryan chuckled and went on his merry way, leaving Ted alone with the dishes and cupboards.
Eventually all the boxes were in the appropriate rooms and the movers were tipped. Ryan emerged from his own suite of rooms, sort of like sub-apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, and small sitting area, and set to helping Ted with the pots and pans.
