“She told me I could take her picture if I emailed it to her, so I did,” Ryan said with a chuckle. “It was on the beach.”
“She’s beautiful.” Ted admired the picture from which Ryan was painting, vibrant and colorful, and the beginnings of the painting that’d come from it.
“In the picture. Something’s wrong with my sketch, though. I been looking at it too long and I can’t see it anymore.”
“Her eyes are too close together,” Ted said.
“Holy shit.” Ryan laughed. “Dude. That’s it. How did you…”
Ted shrugged. “I’m judgmental about facial symmetry.” He wasn’t, but he certainly noticed it. Ryan’s in particular was just off enough to be devastatingly lovely. It was very irritating of him.
“Thanks,” Ryan said. “This is why I’m better at landscapes. People are complicated.”
Ted walked back around to the couch, pulling his phone out of his pocket. Now he thought of it, Thai food did sound good. “Do you want Penang curry?”
