Chapter 44

I followed Brithorne, as I hoped he’d lead me to Cashel. Brithorne stomped through the castle, snapping at servants and sending them scurrying away. My, but this man had his feet well and truly under the table. Perhaps it was time for someone to kick them out.

Brithorne hurried down a sweeping staircase, stopping to bark demands at a servant. Brithorne burst into an adjoining room from the hall, the smells of human food and drink pungent in their stench. As he shouted in anger, everyone in the room was sufficiently distracted so I was able to swiftly fly in and settle in the rafters.
