The wry smile Jian gave told him that yes he would.


“You’re gonna bitch about it, but deep down you’ll think it’s fun. And best of all, we’re a team.”


Victor widened his eyes. “Oh, we’re a team? Is it some kind of sport?”


Jian’s laugh—it sent shivers down his spine, and he wanted to launch himself at him and kiss him until he couldn’t laugh anymore.


“Theycall it a sport. You won’t.”


Victor laughed, too. There were so many stupid sports in the world. “Okay, take us there, mister. Team Hill-Kouri will conquer.”


Jian shook his head. “I fear we won’t, but we’ll get an A for effort.”


Victor climbed into Jian’s pickup and grimaced. “A for effort, we’re not A for effort kind of people, love.”


“No! We’re A for…” He frowned. “I don’t know, A for awesome?”
