Jian had been right concerning the weather. Victor had woken up to more snow and it was freaking cold. He had been shivering by the time he got to work, he had continued to freeze all day despite wearing a thick sweater—the cold blast coming from the old window in his office didn’t help—and on the walk back home again, he feared his intestines would suffer frostbite.

“It’s so fucking cold!” He kicked off his shoes as soon as he’d crossed the threshold. He’d picked his thick boots that morning, but they were uncomfortable as hell.

“Hello, darling. I didn’t hear you stomping up the stairs—or wait, yes I did.” Jian chuckled and shook his head.

Victor grimaced. “My office is so fucking cold. It should be illegal to have drafty windows.”

“I know what you need.”

Victor looked at him and sighed before unzipping his jacket. “You do?”
