Chapter 54

Lyle sighed, knowing there was nothing he could do about it, although he wished he could bring down a rain of fire on the idiot for making Damien’s life harder than it had to be. Which idiot, he wasn’t certain—the waiter for quitting, or Damien’s boss for pulling him in yet again to cover the evening shift.

“Let’s go over everything one more time.” Radclyffe looked at Felicia, Damien, and Glenna as he paced the office.

Damien had been less than happy to get a call from Radclyffe telling him he was to be at the mansion at six sharp. He was even less happy when, five minutes later, Glenna arrived.

He glared at her, and Radclyffe. “Who’s watching Lyle?”

“Another one of my people,” Radclyffe assured him. “He has orders to let me know if he sees anything unusual.”

“Damn it, that won’t do any good if Orsino tries something.”
