Lyle awoke Sunday afternoon trying to figure out why he was in his bedroom at his father’s home. Then it all came rushing back. He was out of bed seconds later, going to the window to see how close it was to sunset. He saw the sun was still well above the horizon, glinting off the deep snow which covered the back garden. Not the way live beings do, anyway. At least he hoped it didn’t—that Damien didn’t, since he was an amalgam of both.
