Chapter 114

Corpses—some fresh, some not so fresh, but all obviously drained of blood—had been discovered by the enforcers in the old abandoned cemetery at the other end of Mifflin. Homicide had a number of cold case files, and Luke had a feeling these bodies tied in with them.

Beth squealed and grabbed Sarah, but before she could dance her around the room, Sarah stepped back and straightened her shoulders.

“I said I thought he would. Actually, what he wanted to do was break up with me. He seemed to feel I’m too high maintenance.”

“You? High maintenance?” Beth growled. “The son of a bitch! I’ll tear off his balls and shove them down his throat.”
