Chapter 12

Stage 7 was huge. People scampered back and forth, clipboards and coffee in their hands. Props were displayed and cataloged; racks and racks of identical costumes whizzed by them. Lights burned against the dull black ceiling as grips added in correct gels for different colored lights. The set itself crawled with designers holding facades moving back and forth like leaves carried by worker ants. Ethan turned to Finn, bag over his shoulder. “I gotta go find Charlie to get settled before hair and makeup. I’ll see you in a couple of hours.”

Finn nodded. “Okay!” Instinctively, he wanted to push up for a kiss, but he restrained himself. With hesitation, he let Ethan turn and stride off to find the assistant director. Finn lingered a little longer until Ethan was completely out of sight. Then, he turned and made his way to the makeup department.
