Chapter 18

“Hey.” A hand came to Finn’s shoulder and he stood. He and Julian hugged before each took their seats. “You ordered yet?”

“Not yet. I’m not that hungry.”

“Hm.” He picked up a menu. “I’m starving…I think I might get something with sauerkraut.”

“Uch.” Finn’s scrunched face made Julian laugh.

Julian was a good-looking man; Finn always thought so. His skin was naturally tanned from his days of outside labor jobs, and he’d recently grown his brown hair out into a ponytail. “So? How’s set?” He laid down the menu. “You didn’t sound too happy on the phone.”

Finn rested his chin on the table. “Set is fine. Everything’s fine. The job is amazing and Ethan is…” His next words lingered. After a moment, he sat up and looked around. They were isolated, but Finn still spoke quietly. “Deborah is worried.”

“Isn’t she always?” Julian retorted. “What about this time?”
