“Feel okay?” Finn asked a minute in.

“It feels great,” Ethan mumbled. Already the weight of his body began to droop. If he wasn’t so eager to get back to his own bed, he’d probably fall asleep then and there. “This is amazing.”

“Not as amazing as you taking me to the Emmys. I still can’t believe it.”

“Believe it. And believe the after party that comes with it.”

Finn’s hands paused. His smile, which hadn’t left his face all day, finally fell. “You hate parties.”

“Hm?” Ethan opened one eye. “Oh. Well the after party isn’t really a party. It’s more like a ‘stand around and drink’ kind of deal. A lot of networking.”

Finn’s frown grew deeper. “But it’s a party. Even if it’s networking, wouldn’t that mean that you’d be cornered by a bunch of people that Deb makes you talk to?”

Ethan shrugged. “She makes me do that anyway.”

“Yeah but—”
