Chapter 25

Julian was there within the hour with a tray of Starbucks, and they settled in the kitchen.

“So,” he started, tossing a packet of sugar into his black coffee. “Big day today, yeah? Excited?”

“Crazy excited,” Finn beamed. “I’m a little nervous too, though. I don’t want to do anything stupid.”

“Well, being you, there’s no helping that.”

“Oh gee, thanks.”

Julian laughed and stirred his drink casually. “How’s he going to explain you? Or is he even going to try?”

“Everyone’s supposed to think I’m his cousin, so his uncle is coming with. He’s a nice guy; you’d like him.”

“I think you talked about him once, yeah.” Julian propped his chin in his hand, his bun of hair loosening just a bit behind his head. “Is he ever planning on coming out, by the way?”

“Hm?” Finn paused, sporting a fresh whipped cream mustache. “You mean to the press?” He licked his lips. “He can’t; that’s the whole point, remember?”
