“Sorry about that,” he said. “My mom says ‘hi,’ Rache.”

Rachel beamed. “Aw, she’s the best. Tell her ‘hi’ back.”

“I will.”

“Finn and I were just talking about the award. SAG and the Golden Globes are up next, you know.”

Ethan laughed. “One tiny statue at a time.”

Finn, swallowing his fifth helping of hors d’oeuvres, chimed in. “Just wait till you get an Oscar!”

“That’s only for movies.”

“Oh, right. Well you should get one anyway.”

Rachel sipped her champagne. “I think we’re up for best drama for the Screen Actors award. You better prepare a longer speech this go around—”

“Excuse me, Mr. Teller?” The three turned to see a man in his thirties wearing a gray blazer and black turtleneck. He was round but well groomed, with expensive glasses and a golden wristwatch. He shook Ethan’s hand. “Vick Handler of Mega Bust Entertainment News. Congratulations on the win.”

“Ah, thank you. I was up against a lot of great competition.”
