“Did we get what we needed?” Ethan asked.

Marty flipped to the middle of the script. “For the most part. Now I know that this is a real emotional moment for Lazarus, but something about it isn’t clicking.” He flipped another page, rubbing his chin. “I think we’ve played up the broody hero so much; it’s starting to feel passé.”

“Isn’t that what the studio wants?”

Marty laughed. “The studio wants ratings. Everything else is window dressing.” Taking a pen from his jean pocket, he made a few notes next to the countless notes already there. “And frankly, with that award under our belt, I think we can get away with making a few changes.”
