Chapter 62

“Should I cook this time? He cooks all the time.”

“He likes cooking.”

“Yeah, but I want to pamperhimthis time around! It might be nice if I made something.”

Julian snorted. “No offense,” he said, “but if you want to do something nice for him, he probably shouldn’t taste your cooking.”

“Oh shut up, asshole!” They laughed and joked for the entire car trip. When they rounded the corner to Ethan’s street, Finn was like an exuberant puppy. The closer they got to his house, however, the quicker his heart fell.

There was a small group of about ten people with cameras waiting on the sidewalk in front of Ethan’s lawn. Finn grew worried and looked to Julian for help. Julian seemed just as confused as Finn, and twice as angry. The minute they parked on the street, the camera crew turned, descending on the pair of them like locusts. Finn was afraid to open his door. Julian, thankfully, walked around the car and opened it for him, shielding Finn from the onslaught of paparazzi.
