Chapter 64

“…And how is that working out for you?” Vick was currently resting against his chair, on the phone leisurely as it lit up with handfuls of other calls. “Listen, it’s not my fault that your photographers suck. If you want my resources, you can pay for a consultation. If you can afford it.”

The door to Vick’s office closed suddenly. Vick looked up to see Felix standing in front of him. He was stern faced, a box of stuff in his arms. Vick’s brows furrowed. “I’m gonna have to call you back.” He hung up the phone, ignoring his other waiting calls. “Something up, Felix?”

“I quit.”

Vick’s eyes narrowed. “You what? You just got a promotion.”

“I don’t want it. Give it to someone else.”

“Hold on.” Vick stood and approached him, concerned. “Let’s not do anything rash here, Felix. How much are they paying you?”

“Excuse me?”

“I’m not an idiot. Clearly, a competitor found out who my new head of photography was and put two and two together. Whatever they’re offering you, I can double it.”
