Chapter 30

My feet carry me to my bedroom. Golden light escapes the room; a bedside table lamp. I stop because I hear noises inside: kissing, masculine laughter, and heavy breathing. Here, I peep a view through the narrow crack. Cliff and Iron are inside. They stand at the bottom of the bed. Arms are wrapped around each other’s torsos. Mouths meet for a second, two seconds, three seconds, and they eventually disconnect.

Cliff says, “We’re going to get caught.”

“No one will care. What does it matter if we do get caught?”

“But I’m involved in a relationship. I have a boyfriend.”

“Don’t worry about him. Darsey is probably downstairs with Wayne. They like each other. You saw what they were doing in the kitchen. Why don’t you kiss me again?” Iron goes for another kiss.
