Chapter 21

“What do you think that’ll look like with a bit of distance?”

His lips were tingling. His throat had completely blocked off his air. His feet felt like lead. But all Michael could do was stare at Tre, eyes wide, as it sank in what he’d done.

They were in public. In Miami. The one city in the world Tre was guaranteed to be recognized.

And Tre had kissedhim.

Slowly, he ran the tip of his tongue discreetly over his lower lip, glancing carefully at the people surrounding him. A few had noticed, and another was whispering, but Tre seemed oblivious to all of them, gazing intently at Michael while he waited for some sort of response.

“I think…it looks like the end of February is great,” he finally managed to say.

Tre smiled widely. “Great. I’ll call you…”

“Excuse me?” An elderly woman standing behind Michael forced her way forward to touch Tre’s arm. “Are you that Tre Griffin?”

“I am.”
