“No. The bushes are pruned, but you have the fruit trees to look after, and your kitchen garden is to die for.” Jules took a bite of the stir fry and chewed quickly as if he wanted to say something else. Nix waited.

“The bench in the kitchen garden. You should have it fixed, or you could fix it yourself, I guess.” Jules grinned at him, and Nix’s heart skipped a beat. So books and gardens were both safe topics. Good to know.
