Chapter 10

Though nobody else was around, the door was closed. For a moment, Andrew debated just walking in, but chose not to. It was still the man’s office, after all.

“Come in,” Levi called, almost as soon as Andrew knocked. He pushed the door open to reveal Levi leaning back in his chair, wearing his standard cream shirt, gray tie, and slacks. He had a pencil behind his ear, one hand resting on the keyboard of his laptop, and the other holding a book open beside it. “Fancy seeing you here.”

“The culprit always returns to the scene of the crime.” He let the door drift shut behind him and perched on the corner of the desk. “You hard at work, or hardly working?”

“I’m hard at work.” Despite Levi’s words, he never looked away from Andrew. “We had plans to meet tonight, didn’t we?”
