“Exactly. Plus, I would be remiss if you didn’t get to hear me sing.”

I snickered at the comment. “You sing?”

“When I’m bored.”

I shook my head. “I’d be offended if you found me boring.”

“Never. Anyway, quit moaning.”

Telling me not to stress much resembled telling someone not to breathe or that the sky wasn’t blue. Every minute that went by meant I was one minute closer to discovering if life in Magnifico was as bad for nonmagical people as I thought it was. 22

Waking up to both a honking train and the pattering of water from the shower in the bathroom the following morning was quite odd. Ramona was one of the few parts of Magnifico without public transportation.

I rubbed my eyes and glanced to the other side of the bed. The comforter was pulled back.

Figures. I was unsure of why it took so long to realize Stefan was in the shower. It would’ve been nice for me to join him. A potential romantic moment with Stefan was going down the drain.
